Not exactly good for surprising someone, no. But quite appropriate considering what we're discussing. People get excited about dates.

About dating? Yes, there are those out there. A little lesson on the words, in case you get confused again. They don't really use these words where I come from. There's little need, and you're free to love who you please. But I found them in coming here.

Heterosexual people prefer the opposite gender. So, for you, girls.
Homosexuals prefer their own gender.
Bisexual, they don't mind either of them, to one extent or another.

Asexual? Well, they aren't too interested one way or another. It's not disgusting or anything. They're just not very interested in romance.

Does that make sense?

You might be. It kind of sounds like you're still figuring it out. You're young, after all, so you have all the time in the world for that.

But, if you're attracted to both, even a little, that might explain the ??? Maybe they're not sure if you're bi, and they don't want to assume?

I think it should be ok to know or to not know, to be sure or unsure, or even to change your mind down the road. You are free to be who you are, without any judgments.

As much as I enjoy watching romances blossom, no better advice can I think for most people. Don't rush things.

There's a lot to like. His smile makes other people smile, and he's always willing to help everyone even if it might get him hurt. He can be funny sometimes, but other times I just shake my head at what he says. I think you'd like him, too! If he ever comes here...

Ah, he sounds like the sort that everyone loves, deep down. They're an interesting sort, though I do hate sharing attention. That's the downside when they're so good by nature.

He loves all of his friends a lot a lot.

I know the sort. We had one like that, before. Mister forgiveness himself. His name was Rex.

Why not? Don't be afraid of rejection now. That's part of kissing. It always comes with a bit of risk the first time.

It's not rejection I'm afraid of. He can hit hard.

Leave? Oh no, this is in my homeworld. Rex has never been here, I assure you. The wings make him hard to miss.

Now, now, getting punched is all part of the risk and fun in a kiss. Oh dear, I'm starting to sound like another of my friends back home now, though it is true.

Is he a bird?

Being punched for kissing someone doesn't sound like fun...

He is half harpuia, from his mother's side. They are a race of winged people we encountered in our journeys. His father Duran took a shying to Silvi, the one who traveled with us.

Oh, I suppose that's fair. Bruises aren't quite as fun when they come that way.

So his mom traveled with you?

I don't think he'd hit me, but I have to consider it.

For quite a long time, until their son was born and, some time after, the two of them passed from the living. We raised Rex, much like we raised Duran, Thoma and Ladius before him.

It's all a little complicated I suppose.

I'll try it. We'll see what happens.

Quite accurate. Onelthes live for centuries, much like elves and syrium, though I do not know if you know those races either. I am barely in my middle years, truth told, though sometimes I feel like an old woman.

I will be curious if you get the chance while you are here to hear how it goes. I hope your nose does not get bloodied.
