I'd recommend filing the 'payback' for later. Once we address Sodder that can be handled. I suspect we're going to have a lot on our plates before we get there, and the distraction could be a danger.

Hehe. He's lazy as all get out. He just happens to be rather powerful when riled. His kin, however, are definitely intense. But I'm sure your friend could. Nuts help. She's easily bribed.

Then you understand better than some. Keeping a clear head here isn't easy. Forgiving less so. But you'll figure it out. I'm sure of it.

I didn't phrase that well but I'm glad you understood that. Besides, Bill would probably want me to do something like that so he could show me how easy it would be to hurt me. I'd be playing into my emotions instead of my intent.

He does seem to be the sort who delights in a certain amount of misery. Feeding into his games won't end well. And I'd really rather you not be hurt again.

What is your friend King like?

You can feel he'd hurt me? I agree with you. I can look at and hear him and I can feel that he's messed with countless others. I was uneasy before when he was directing us, but in his element? He was really scary, and needed someone stronger than me to take him on.

[Luz wasn't dumb: there was being a hero and then there was attempting to flex on a being with knowing little to nothing about him. You just didn't do it.].

Not you specifically, but I don't feel like he's safe for anyone. He seems quite hazardous in his own way, and as you aid. He seems like the sort to do it for his own fun.

I suspect he needs several someones. Just be careful.

Yeah. I could tell I was dipping my toes in something bigger than I'd ever faced, and I saw the Emperor and faced him. Bill was...unnerving.

I will. I still have a lot to learn, about lots of stuff. I'm not going to do that if I wildly try to fight something too big for me.

The ability to carefully choose your battles when you're able to do so? It's a potent skill to keep in your back pocket. It can help make sure that you never get in over you head.

I've actually had a history of being kinda bad in that area. I'm starting to get better though! Now I just think of Eda and Margot and all of you guys, so I try to make sure I don't really endanger myself. I can't make it out safely all the time.

And then we bash his head! Or something like that.

I'm not great either. Little overconfident at times, though I've gotten better with time in this place. I'm definitely glad to hear it.

I did hear someone mention to me once that you have horrible luck when it comes to dying. So if you've gotten better, good! I mean, for your well being.

I kind of want his top hat though.

If I were being brutally honest? They don't know the half of it at this point. But they're not wrong, and I really wish they were. The reason my head does not re-attach was because of the sixth death. You get trapped in the state of your actual death after that one. If you ever saw a very silly film called "Beetlejuice" it's like that.

This town is pretty awful for that sort of thing, as you can guess.

I'm sorry. I mean, I know I had nothing to do with that and I'm new here and everything, but you've been here a long time and done all of this over and over. I can't imagine the kind of stuff you've seen. But you still are out there helping us try to make this place better, even if you're bearing the scars of being here.

I really admire you. I hope I have the courage that you have, by the time all of this is over.
