It was just a slip of the tongue, you tell yourself. A moment of pain, a stubbed toe. A hiss and words that are familiar come out of the mouth. Albus can understand them, and yet he should know that it should not be possible to hear him speak those words. After all...
Albus does not speak Parseltongue.
The moment that it happens, the curse has truly begun. For the next three days, he will find himself increasingly unable to speak in a normal language. His tongue splits like that of a serpents and by the third day the only language he will be able to speak in is parseltongue. On the one hand it's a bit of body horror, a forced transformation that is anything but pleasant. On the other hand, it is much much worse.
Every time he tries to rely upon any form of communication that does not require him to speak, his hands will ache like the worst carpal tunnel, making it nearly impossible to write or type clearly. Whenever he speaks, people will react with exactly what someone might expect. Hearing parseltongue solicits the primal reaction of fight or flight in some, while in others it breeds outright suspicion. They can barely understand what he is saying to begin with, and that is only if they remain and don't flee, shout at him or worse, but they can at least get the gist of it. However, it is nearly impossible to trust Albus while he is in this state. Hopefully he can manage to get through the next weeks without too much trouble.
This curse will last two weeks and may begin at any time.
