[It actually takes a couple days, given the staggering of their respective deaths. She does, however, text him back when she had her fluid again.]

My own apologies, Franciscus. It seemed we both encountered a rather unfortunate end recently. Different circumstances, though, I assure you. No need to apologize, though. You weren't yourself.

Well, I'll simply say that it's good to hear you're back, then. Do you mind me asking what happened, in case it's something I should avoid myself in future?

One of the crab creatures with the acid blood in the decorated eggs got me by surprise. They're extremely fast and I didn't hear the egg crack open until it was too late. They implant their young inside you, which burst out.

It's rather grotesque, though the song and dance routine was just insult added to injury really.

[...no, she wasn't kidding about the song and dance routine. It had done that while avoiding Moira's killing blow, as she'd died.]

Very well. I'll take care to avoid such eggs in the future. Or perhaps try and move them somewhere less occupied by people before they hatch. Do you have someone to look after you while you're recovering?

This happened when I moved it to FEAR for testing, so whatever you do, be extremely careful.

Mercy's been administering her treatments. It's helped a great deal, and the flu symptoms are minimal for now, but there are problems. I cannot seem to remember much, if anything, from before I came to Deerington.

[Okay, that's worrying.] Do you think you could recall things if you were reminded? I can share what you've told me before, if you think it would help.

I have photos, from December, at home. I've been staring at them and the names on them but nothing comes back to me. Mercy's been trying to help but all I can seem to remember is my race, my name and my magic.

Every memory here is fine, but it worries me. I would not mind you telling me, and I would be writing it down, but I fear I may be like this for a few weeks. Disconcerting and ominous at best.

Actually, I would like to see you. I was given a camera recently, and I want to take a picture with you and your friends. Just in case. I do not trust Deerington.

I'm certainly fine with that. Shall I come find and inform you in person now, then?

That would be lovely, thank you. Just knock when you reach my door, and I will see you in.

[It takes a while for Franciscus to make it to Vira-Lorr's place, but once he's there he knocks on the door, using his other arm to support himself against it as well.]

[She opened the door before motioning for him to come in and make himself comfortable. While she wasn't ill thanks to Mercy's treatments, she definitely wasn't a hundred percent either.]

You are looking a little the worse for wear. Can I offer something for you?

[Said as a green chicken poked its bejeweled head from a corner to sneak a peak at him curiously.]

[Franciscus sits down, doing his best to stay dignified about it instead of just sprawling over. He's about to answer when the chicken appears and he stares at it for a moment. Oh, hello little chicken. He turns his head to smile at it, before turning back to Vira-Lorr.]

Some water would be nice.

[onerthes]

[The fairy creature made a chirping sound before settling on the breakfast bar and watching them quietly while she went to pour him some water.]

I can definitely do that. Sometimes water is the best remedy for what troubles you. As simple a solution, yet essential.

...don't mind Susan. She's harmless. [Not in the slightest.] I think she's curious about you. [That was likely true.]

[He's pretty sure there's zero actual studies about it, but he figures drinking wine right after coming back from the dead is a bad idea.]

Oh, I certainly don't mind. I am fond of birds, after all, and she's quite a pretty creature.

[Probably, but she'd never been good at living only by good ideas, had she?]

She is, in her own way. Very intelligent too. Quite a strange little creature if you ask me. I wonder why she has so much power.

Power? Now you've made me curious about what, specifically, her abilities are. I assume they're related to the crystal somehow?

[onerthes]

Oh, it's a kind of creature that has magical powers on its own, and can cast powerful spells much as I could. I think it is natural to the creature, though I do think they use that to focus their power.

[He nods in understanding.] Did she arrive here with you as well?

[onerthes]

Susan? No, she appeared about a month ago in a basket. I freaked out at first, though... well, honestly, I don't entirely remember why I was. She's been a delight, honestly, and I couldn't imagine not having all of these creatures around the house. They keep me company.

[Memories of fighting Luijts like Susan back home? Gone entirely right now.]

[Franciscus nods in enthusiastic agreement.] I can't imagine not having my Pokemon with me, either. I'm still not used to the idea that so many people don't consider their companionship a common thing...

[onerthes]

I suppose that it is one of the traits of your world that is most singular to it. I haven't sen anyone with similar circumstances before. Still it is fascinating in way.

And now... i seem to have one to live with me.
