Mercury fashioned something similar to it at some point. The method of construction's different, though, and the weapon was incredibly rare in comparison to what it is for you. However, weapons technology is one of the only fields that truly advanced.

It was a weapon I only willingly held for the final stages of the conflict. It was definitely draining to fight against its will, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
