[A tinny man's voice gives what is clearly a default answer machine message. Vira-Lorr is still figuring the phone out it seems.] "Hello, we are not available now. Please leave your name and phone number after the beep. We will return your call." *Beep*
So someone like Mina-chan is who you'd be interested in?
[She was starting to get the picture now. Not that Makoto could blame her, Minako was beautiful and strong, she was able to take charge when she needed to, not to mention that she knew everything there was about romance and love. After all she was Venus and fought for Love and Beauty.]
Yeah I'm pretty strong, but I don't know about everything else. And I guess I do kind of miss her, as well as Ami. But I'm sure that Usagi misses them more, so I have to be strong for her.
[She paused at the base of the last flight of steps. There was a moment and a frown, and she swallowed a little, her eyes closed.]
Maybe someone a little like her, but I don't think Minako is the right choice or me, for where I am in my life. I want a free spirit, but... [She was a little too free? Vira-Lorr honestly didn't think Minako was ready to settle from the little they'd talked of such things.] I think I might have trouble not being jealous around her.
But there are pieces of her that are very attractive yes. Somebody would be lucky to date her, yes.
[She looked up at her.] You sound like your world revolves around your friends, Makoto. Why would you say she misses them more? I imagine you miss each other equally to be apart.
[Hmm, well that certainly made things abit more difficult. Someone she'd like, who wouldn't be jealous, but at the same time would make Vira-Lorr jealous.]
Anyone would be lucky if they were able to catch Mina-chan.
True, but Usagi is [How could she explain this without giving away all of their secret.] Usagi seems like she's a lot more connected to all of us, and we're all kind of drawn to her. Plus Usagi has never really been on her own before. So it's a lot harder for her.
[Unbeknownst to Makoto, all it really meant was that she wanted someone ready to be steady, which she wasn't sure Minako had been. Ah, but she also didn't want to sound like she was criticizing Minako either. After all, she wanted her to be free too.]
We can certainly agree on that. She's a very attractive and energetic person. I remember that all too well from our brief time here.
[She started to follow up and to the roof access. Thankfully there was one, so that they could enjoy the light show as it neared its zenith. It would be a nice chance to spend time alone.]
I think I understand. And you're a very independent woman yourself. Which is a good trait, but it can also mean you're better able to cope apart from the friends you love, even if you wish to be with them again.
[She tried thinking of who else there might be. Haruka maybe? But she was pretty sure that Haruka would wind up making anyone jealous, even Chibi-usa had been worried when Usagi and Haruka kissed afraid that she'd be stolen away from Mamoru. Rei was already in a relationship, Ami wasn't the kind to really look for one. She was pretty sure that Atsushi really liked Usagi, even if they weren't admitting it.]
You'd probably get along well with Setsuna-san, I don't think I've ever seen her get jealous though she doesn't really seem like the adventurous type.
[Finally they'd made it. Makoto checked to make sure that they wouldn't be locked out, and proper the door open just to be on the safe side as well.]
Well I've lived alone for awhile, so I'm used to it. And I do miss them and like to be around friends, but I'm alright on my own too.
[Maaan, she would have loved to meet Haruka, but as soon as she learned about Michiru, she would never have been able to think of that. Ah, but she had her own interest at this point, and she'd get around to showing her, she was certain.]
She's a wonderful woman. She reminds me a lot of a friend of mine who's woen up, Moira. Both of them are deeply professional souls with their minds in their studies. I think she's quite adventurous, but perhap not in this way.
[She started to spread the blanket down settling herself onto it in the center and turning around to pat the spot right behind her. Nothing wrong with cuddling close, right?]
I'm glad too, I'm not sure what I would have done without them.
[She was sure that she would have been fine, but the chances were she wouldn't have met a lot of the people that she has. And she probably would have been a lot more secluded trying to figure everything out. But she takes a seat next to Vira, not having any problem at all with the closeness of it.]
I'm sure you would have been fine, but thankfully we don't have to test that.
[She rested her head back, against Makoto's shoulder, and sighed to herself contentedly. A hand reached down and placed itself over the back of the senshi's as the looked up into the night sky and the brilliant, surreal display overhead.]
I am too. I don't know that I would have gotten to share moments like this with anyone else. I am glad we met.
[She glanced down as Vira-Lorrs hand rested on her own. Makoto didn't move it, but she wondered if she'd down it intentionally. This whole things was starting to seem an awful lot like a date, which made Makoto blush a little. She'd have to try it with David if the lights were still around.
For tonight though she relaxed leaning back as she looked up at the lights and the stars. There were so many more than in the city.]
You might, maybe next time it can be with someone special.
Don't sell yourself short there. You're pretty special, you know.
[She pitched it to sound a bit like a tease, even as her fingers sort of rested between Makoto's. If it felt almost but not quite like a date? Well, that was pretty intentional on one of their part, but she didn't want to press it too much further.
The stars shot past them and she smiled to herself.]
You know there's enough shooting stars right now, I imagine we could all get away with a wish for ourselves.
[Alright, that made her blush as she drew her knees up a little. She knew Vira-Lorr didn't mean it like that, or well she thought that Vira-Lorr didn't mean it like that. But still, Makoto found herself returning the gesture and holding the other's hand as their fingers laced between one another.]
Shhh. You're not allowed to tell someone your wish, Makoto. It will never have a chance of coming true if you do that. But, I'll promise you this. If mine ever does come true, you'll be the first to know.
[She felt the stiffening, the nerves and she tried to relax a little. She was laying it on thick, and ... Makoto didn't feel ready. The nerves were there, and as perfect as this moment might have seemed on the surface, it was a lie. The meteors were because she'd died. This beautiful display was because she'd been stupid, taken a risk and broken like stained glass. And now she was here, lying to someone she was getting interested in. It felt... like it only looked like the perfect day on the surface, and it needed to actually be perfect.
Chuckling a little, she glanced over, catching Makoto's eye out of the corner and seeing the blush. She really did look cute when her cheeks matched her hair.]
It's only fair. If I make my wish here with you, I should tell you first when it comes true, and vice versa? They don't always, but I think tonight we've got a shot of it, if we're patient
[She had forgotten that part. Though it seemed a little childish. Then again when one of the stars went shooting by Makoto couldn't help but close her eyes and make a wish. Wishing that she could find that special someone. It wasn't that she expected it to come true, but there had been a lot of conversations recently about it, and everyone seemed so happy with who they were; Makoto wanted that same happiness.]
You really think so?
[She couldn't help but think about how Ami would probably say something about them not actually being stars or something.]
I am certain of it. A wish is only the possibility that we make come true with our own wills. The stars just help.
[Totally out of her ass on that one, but it sounded poetic enough. Vira-Lorr really should have kept hers generic like Makoto's, to leave herself open, because who could say what would happen in the next few months. But she didn't. Her eyes picked one out and she wished 'I wish to find love, perhaps with this girl.' She was, admittedly, starting to crush a little on her own, and having to remind herself what a century or two had taught her, especially the last two years, about leaping in without looking. She could hold back when it was her heart, but she certainly was the romantic sort to get her hopes up.]
I just want to stay here resting my head against you for a while. This is ... really nice, Makoto. Thank you for tonight.

[The rest of the night passed by with the two of them sitting there and enjoying the beauty of the night and the lights filling the sky.]
