If they are out of control and I have the power, it is my duty to use it. If someone is hurt because they are rampaging when I had an opportunity to stop it, those people were hurt because of my lack of resolve and I won't let that happen. Plus, mercy is something that I would expect from my allies should the shoe be on the other foot.
