I am coming to the conclusion that ... those from a mystical background have an initial advantage here. They can 'accept' that dream magic is a possible thing. But it is so far beyond their comprehension that they have trouble after a while. A logical mind, once past the first problem of 'this shouldn't be possible' can gradually and more firmly establish the rules as they understand them.

In the end? A logical, scientific mind can more firmly establish that truth. [She nodded after a moment.] you're right, though. Julia changes things. Each of our magic operates off rules we remember, and so it works off our memory.

But her own operates by her own rules, and it supercedes ours.
